Excel Template

I would like to design an Excel Template where I can input
data into a cell and from that input search another
spreadsheet which contains numerous cells with information
and retrieve the correct set of data from that second
spreadsheet into a range of cells on the first
spreadsheet. Has anyone ever run across this type of
usage?

Thanks for any help.
 
The search engine in The Excel Auditor does this.
