Excel spreadsheets saids that I have it open

I currently have office 97 and windows xp. When I tried
to open an excel spreadsheet that I have been using for a
long time. I access this spreadsheet through the network
drive and sometimes it let's me open it. When ever it
doesn't let me open it, then it gives me the following
message "You already have spreadsheet so and so open,
please close the other spreadsheet". I re-start my
computer and nothing happens, I go to another workstation
and I'm able to open it just fine. Can somebody help?
