by spreadsheets are we talking worksheets or workbooks?
as a workbook contains one or more worksheets - closing the workbook will
close all the sheets within it
you can't actually just close a worksheet (it's like trying to close just
page 2 in a word document).
if however, you're talking multiple workbooks all closing when you close one
you need to use the bottom X (on the top right hand side of the screen) -
not the top one to close the current (active) workbook.
