Excel - Recently Used Files keeps reseting

Hi,
I have a user whose constantly has to change his Recently Used File setting.
I did a Detect and Repair, applied updates, scanned for virus and adware. I
even upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP thinking it would solve the
problem. It saves it for a day and then it resets and unchecks the option in
Tools. When I looked in his registry, it shows the 3 files I used to test
but those files are not listed in his File drop menu option. Any ideas would
be great. It's been going on for a couple of weeks and I am running out of
ideas other than completly uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks in advance.

Just a thought: You may have already checked for user errors, but in case
you have not. But this is the behavior I would expect when an app is not
closed properly.

Not closing Excel before turning syustem off?
Leaving a file open in Excel when an overnight process kicks him out of it?
etc..

One guess........

For Excel 2002 and 2003............

Are you running TweakUI?

If so, you may have disabled the MRU lists by unchecking "maintain document
history list" under the Explorer tab.
