I recently had to craete a presentation in Powerpoint and
tried many times to insert an Excel file into the
presentation....it just wouldn't let me...it inserted a
huge image at one point which I could not reduce. Is
there a trick to doing this? Anyone?

If you do not need to edit the sheet use paste special and select metafile

As ~X says you need to use Paste Special instead of paste. In Excel X
there is an option in Paste Special entitled Microsoft Excel Workshee
Object, that should do the trick

One way in PowerPoint is:
Insert >> Object >> Create from file
and browse to select an Excel file. This embeds a copy of the Excel file
into the PowerPoint file. The insert is resizable.

(I have Win 98 and Office 97.)
