Currently, I use Excel for a Status Log at work. this status log changes
continuously. basically, it contains the job name, customer, a million
dates. the reason i use excel is that there are basically three stages of
each job. with excel, i can add rows when necessary. does this sound like
something that access can handle better than excel can? i am descent with
excel, but i have no access experience. any input is greatly appreciated.

thank you,
steve

From your description I can't tell. I would suggest that if you really
have very large numbers of records (data) Access is likely the way to go.
Excel tops out at 64,000 I believe. That's small for Access.

I am just not sure what you are doing.

One thing to remember. Learning Access is a mighty steep learning
experience. If you are ready for the challenge, then I suggest trying it in
Access. There are lots of people here to help you.

Does the Excel solution work for you? (If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :-)
If you're having problems with the Excel solution, what are they? If we knew
that, we'd be in a better position to advise whether moving to Access might
solve those problems.
