I have a problem when using numbers in excel. I've created a record called
UPC for my item references and number are supposed to be viewed as this:
659078740069. I save the format in csv. and when I go to reopen to file the
numbers that I've entered show as 6.59079E+11. I've changed the format of the
number from General to Number, save, close and open and it displays
6.59079E+11 again I go on to stretch the record to see if it shows the
number correctly but they don't show. I change the format of the cell from
general to text and again it shows 6.59079E+11 its frustrating because I'm
uploading my csv files onto a online inventory management program called
netsuite and I need to be able to display these numbers correctly if anyone
can help me PLEASE DO!!!!!

This is a common problem. If you export as .csv and open the .csv with
NotePad, You will see the data is correct.

The problem is in the re-opening.

Instead of double-clicking the .csv to open it, first open Excel and then:

Data > Import External Data > Import Data... > and then specifiy the file

This will invoke the Import Wizard. Tell the Wizard that the field is Text.

Excel's standard column width is 8.43 characters, 64 pixels. You might see
something different if you increase your column width. Click on the column
separator bar at the right of the column header (B, for example) and drag to
the right.
