Excel Macros to zip a file

I'm working on attendance of an institute maintained in Excel. I want to simplify the user's work by giving buttons for all his needs. I need help in creating a graph and also zipping the current worksheet by using macros and VBA code. I want to assign these macros to the buttons in the worksheet.
I have some code that I found from some threads but I'm not able to achieve the needed result. I'm new to VB and hence it would be great if someone could help me with this.
