Excel macro runs in PP

We created a presentation for management using charts from our Excel file.
The charts are linked to the presentation so each month they are
automatically updated. Recently I added a macro to the Excel file to draw in
data. Now when we open the presentation to update the links, the macro
security window appears (Disable Macros, Enable Macros, ...). But not just
once, multiple times. My thinking is the window appears for each linked
chart. So how does one avoid running the Excel macro just because we update
chart links in PowerPoint?

Dave,
If the excel workbook can be signed by an digital certificate (self-signed
which is free but limited or 3rd party) and then that publisher could be set
up as a trusted publisher. This will ensure that the excel macros are
enabled automatically since the workbook is signed by a trusted publisher.

Alternately, you can set the setting in Excel for macro security to high
which will prevent any macro execution.

Hi Shyam

Right! A digital certificate which can be made in Office. Guess I'll have
to research that and put that to use. Thank you!
