Excel Import Closes Access

This morning, all of a sudden, when I try to import any
Excel spreadsheet to Access 2002 I get an error and
the "Send/Don't Send Error Report" window appears.
Access closes and I cannot import any Excel into Access.
How can I get Access to Import again?
I recently installed Access97 on my computer yesterday,
would this be causing the problem, can 2002 & 97 not
exist on the same computer?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might need to check the references tab in both
versions to make sure that you didn't lose something when
you installed. I've seen other posts here which stated the
authors had several versions of access installed on the
same machine, so that shouldn't be the problem.

If you installed A97 after A2002 was already on the PC, you can have
problems. Microsoft's recommendation is to install the different versions by
starting with the oldest one first, and then progressing through the
versions until the very latest one.

Thus, you may need to uninstall both A97 and A2002 and then reinstall in the
order A97 followed by A2002.
