IN AN EXCEL SPREAD SHEET, WHAT FORMULA WOULD I USE IF I NEED A TOTAL AT THE
BOTTOM OF A COLUMN OF 15 NUMBERS? In other words, I have 15 rows with a
number in column "D" for each row and I need a total in row 16 of this column
"D".

Try this...

=SUM(D1:D15)

As you can see, I'm a babe in the woods on this Excel.
Appreciate your patience.

While we are all happy to help, I do urge you to think about a cheap book
(like Excel for Dummies - maybe a used one from www.abebooks.com ). You will
get so much more out of Excel if you master the basics and learn the right
terms to ask questions
all the best in you endeavours
