Excel file won't open, read only not checked.

Student saved Excel worksheet to floppy. Error message stating that it
cannot be accessed. "Read only" not checked. Help!

probably a corrupt file now. NEVER save a file directly to a floppy disk.
Always use the harddisc and copy the file manually.

Maybe OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) can open this file
