Excel file size

When pasting a 45kb Excel file in a new FP-doc, the result
is a 942kb htm file. Any suggestions how to reduce this
size?

Instead, drag and drop the file into a "folder", not a "page". Then on
the page, do a link to it. Then user (who must have Excel or a program
that can view Excel files) will see the native Excel file.

Do you have people editing this (excel) file? if not then turn it into a PDF
format file which typically is a small file esp. when converted directly
from the source file.
