Group:

I need help.

I reinstalled Office 2000 and then reinstalled the Office 2003 upgrade. Now
whenever I open Excel, I get the following error message:

Unable to load
Application.ComAddIns.Item("PPCMenu.dsrPPCMenuExcel").object.clsMenuManager

If I press the OK button everything seems to function correctly. But then
when I close the schedule, I again get the same error message which I
dismiss by pressing the OK button.

I have uninstalled all add-ins (Tools>Add Ins...), but that doesn't stop the
error messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
BobV

Robert,

Check the xlStart and Library folders for other add-ins. And check for
Com-Addins. (You have to customise the toolbar to get access to the
command). View, Toolbars, Customise, ....

I removed everything from the XLStart folder and I checked in the Com
Add-In... dialog box and there are no Com Add-Ins listed there. How do I get
rid of this annoying Excel error message?

Unable to load
Application.ComAddIns.Item("PPCMenu.dsrPPCMenuExcel").object.clsMenuManager

Any further help will be greatly appreciated.

Bob,

Can you check this registry key and see if there is anything there related
to the addin you are having problems with.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\

If that doesn't show it up, I'm a bit stumped. You could do a registry
search for PPCMenu.dsrPPCMenuExcel and clsMenuManager and see if you can
find where it is coming from.

Robin:

That was it. The registry key
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\) is where I
found the reference to the Com addin that I could not get rid of. Thanks to
you, everything works correctly now.
