Excel Edit Text Import Issues

Hi,
I have a shared Excel workbook that pulls data from a text file. I simply
right click in the data area and Edit Text Import, which allows me to choose
the text file to import. The data comes in and updates the formulas. This all
works the way it should.

The problem is: I gave others a link to this workbook location. All can open
the workbook without issue. Some can right click & choose Edit Text Import,
and others right click and don't see the option. They also don't see the
option in the Data Menu > Import External Data. It doesn't seem to matter if
the workbook opens in Read Only or not. We all have the same version of Excel
(2003 SP3). Any ideas why some can use the same workbook and have this option
and others cannot?

Thank you for your time and assistance.

There is a security setting that can disable external data links. Go to
Excel options (Office button at top left of window) and select trust center
settings. In that dialogue the External Content button will bring up
options that allow you enable or disable data connections. Some of your
users probably may have this disabled.
