Excel Date Formats

We are running excel 97 and we have a file saved on a
fileserver. When inputing dates on one PC that has
formatting set to dd/mm/yy and save the file it shows
05/01/04 however, any other PC I go to it shows 01/05/04
the formating is not saved to dd/mm/yy. Is there anyway
of saving the formatting aswell as the info in the
spreadsheet.
 
In windows start>settings>control panel regional settings, that is where the
dd/mm/yy is set. I assume that particular pc has US settings
