Excel crashes with Vista business edition

Hi, new to this forum so apologies if this question has been asked before.

My friend uses Vista Business edition (she runs a small business) and uses
excel a lot (2003 version).

However since moving over to vista, when in excel (usually when trying to
change a header or footer) Excel crashes.

Does anyone know what's wrong and how to put it right please?
