Excel bug - date and currency fields converted to text

I have a spreadsheet with a lot of VBA. On some machines (never on my own!), when copying a range of values from one sheet to another, fields that are formatted on source and desination fields as dates or currency magically get converted to text strings.

What's more, these strings are formatted in default US format (i.e. Currency is in $, dates with AM/PM) whilst the spreadsheet is only run on machines with a UK locale.

Anybody come across this before or suggest a workaround? I'm using Excel 2002 SP3

FYI: A solution

The problem seems to go away if I use the property 'Value2' rather than 'Value'

Can anyone give a rational explanation of what Value2 is all about?

Thanks,
Ian
