EXCEL AND WORD ARE LOCKED UP, CAN'T TYPE OR USE

i have been using word and excel and all of a sudden it has locked up and i
can't type anything in either one and i can't access the toolbar as it is all
gray. I thought maybe I had accidently hit the read only somehow but I have
checked that on both programs and it is not checked. can someone help me?
 
This is an Access newsgroup. Access is a separate application that is part
of MS Office Professional. Your question does not seem to be related to MS
Access. I'd suggest you ask in a different newsgroup.

Well from what your saying it doesn't sound like you activated microsoft
office.. And After a certain amount of uses the suite locks up until you
activate it. It could be something different, but I remember I forgot to
activate my office because I was in a rush and my toolbar went gray
