Excel and Word 2003 VB compile errors

ChasR

In Excel on start I get Visual Basic message:
"compile error in hidden module: AutoExecNew"
On exit:
"compile error in hidden module: DistMon"
In Word on Start and exit:
"compile error in hidden module: AutoExec"
Both programs seem fully functional. What is wrong and
how can I fix it?
Thanks for any help

Hi ChasR,

For Excel this is probably caused by an add-in file called
pdfwrite.xla.

Search your HD for the file and delete it.
Now open Excel, choose Tools, Add-ins and fine one that relates to
Acrobat reader. Click it and Excel will ask if it can be removed.

I have the same problem, with "compile error" when
starting Excel. However, when I was having errors with
Word I uninstalled Adobe Acrobat 5.0. Having done that, I
no longer have pdfwrite.xla anywhere on my system, and I
go to tools, add-ins, I do not have any entries relating
to Acrobat, yet I receive the "compile error".
