Excel alternatives for viewing large files

I often use Excel just to view large csv or space-delimited files in a
2-D grid, but I sometimes run into the row and column limits. What are
some alternatives to Excel for this task that run on Windows XP?

for the row limit you may use MS Access
or have a look at Quatro Pro
