Excel 97 files open very slowly

I've got Excel files that open slowly when double-clicked in an email. Help!
 
Try cleaning your windows temp folder.

Close excel (and any other applications) and
windows start button|run
%temp%
and clean up as much as you can.

You may also want to clean up the temporary internet file folder, too.

Start windows explorer
tools|internet options|general tab
click the delete files button
