Is it possible to set Excel so that data can be seen in the cell at the same
time it is seen in the formula bar like in every prior version of Excel
before the Abomination of the Ribbon?

Additionally, why is the cursor in the cell, where you cannot see what you
are typing, instead of in the formula bar where you are actually typing?
Clearly the people who thought the ribbon was a good idea thought this was a
good idea too, but I simply do not understand why the indicator that you are
typing, the cursor, is not where you are typing.
