Excel 2007 protected file corrupt after update

I just installed several updates to windows 2007 and Excel. I can no longer
open any of my password protected Excel 2007 files, it states, " The file is
corrupt and cannot be opened". All other files open without any problem,
only the password protected files show this statement. Can anyone help?

Chris,

I just posted the same issue with the subject "Excel 2007 corrupts XLSX
files when password is used - all compute" in the Excel Application Errors
forum. Ours shows up whenever a password is used in XLSX format - XLS files
save and open with passwords all day long.

I'll let you know what I hear back; we are an EA and Select customer and
will be opening other channels as well. This is major bad voodoo...

Best of luck,

Daniel

I have the same issue, in my case the error message appears at the
server (W2k3Ex64) and not on a client (XP) computer when opening the
same xlsx document.

All,

My bad for not updating - turns out Office 2007 SP1 fixes this issue.

Well, I just updated office 2007 and rebooted, but still receive the
same error with protected xlsx file.

I tested to make a new xlsx file with password protection (save as -
general options) but now even another error message appears when
trying to save:

"Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file xxxxxx\C48D0000. There
are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist
The file is being used by another program
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currenly
open workbook"

Anyone know with this issue?

Thanks
Orfeo
