Am I missing something? Is there no way in Options to change the default font
& size, permanently, for every spreadsheet or workbook that you open, without
preparing a template? I personally like Arial 11. Who selected Calibri 11 as
the default?

Biff,

This works well for new files which we create by opening MS Excel.

But if we right click on Windows Explorer and create a new excel worksheet,
then open it (dbl click), then the changed font is not being applied.

Do you have any trick to fix this?

Hmmm...

Yes, I see that.

I never create new files in that manner so I'm not sure how you'd correct
that. You might have to create a new default Book.xltx template.

When in Explorer and right-click New>Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Workbook.

C:\Windows\SHELLNEW\Excel12.xlsx is the workbook that opens.

Open it and make your changes to that workbook.

Save.

Welcome.

Has been around for years as Excel9.xls

Since installing 2007 I see I now have both files in shellnew.

Thanks for the feedback.

Don't forget to keep a BOOK.XLTX in your xlstart folder for opening a new
workbook from within Excel
