Change default font for single workbook

I've found instructions for changing the default font for all Excel workbooks
but how can you do this for just a single workbook without altering general
templates?

(The reason is that while I usually have Arial as the default font I need a
fixed width font for some workbooks and would like to set a font which would
apply to row/column of every sheet, and any new ones I might add, in my
selected xls file.)

I'm using Excel 2000.

Grateful for advice

To do it for one sheet, click on the intersection of the row and column
identifiers so that every cell is selected, then just choose your font.

If you have several sheets then you can group them together and then apply
the above, remembering to ungroup the sheets once you are finished.

Hope this helps.

Try selecting all of the cells in the workbook (click the blank box where
the row header column meets the column header row), then change the font
(Format/Cells/Font) to what you want and save the workbook.

Thanks for this. Please can you tell me how to group worksheets. I can't find
a reference in the help - is it because it's not available in Excel 2000?

I don't have XL2000, but this works in XL2003 (I see no reason why it won't
work for you).... Click the first worksheet tab, press the Shift key down
and click on the last worksheet tab.

I also use Excel 2000.

You can hold down the CTRL key while you select a sheet tab with the
mouse (keep doing this if you only have a few), or you can right-click
on a sheet tab and then choose Group Sheets. To Ungroup them
afterwards, just right-click again and choose Ungroup Sheets.

Hope this helps.
