Excel 2003

Sometime when I copy a cell an exclamation point pops up and provides me with
3 choices of formating additionally the cells with info in them have a green
tab in the upper right hand corner. Even after I chose one of the 3 options
this (!) does not go away. Does anyone knw how to turn this feature off?

Tools>Options...Edit

Show paste options buttons
Show Insert options buttons
