Number stored as text

Whenever I have a document that has a column where the cells contain a number
stored as text, a little green tick mark appears by the cell. If you point to
it, you get a drop down box that gives you the choices "convert to number",
"store as text", "ignore error", et al. I usually select "ignore error" and
the green tick mark goes away. If the whole column is formatted that way, I
can select the column and select "ignore error" by the first cell in the
column and the tick mark goes away for all the cells in the column. However,
if not all the cells in a column have the green tick mark, I have to select
each cell individually and click "ignore error". Is there a way to make the
green tick mark go away (aside from turning the option off) for all cells
that have it without doing each one manually.

Format all to General

Copy an empty cell.

Select the column with the green markers.

Edit>Paste Special>Add>OK>Esc

Greenies will go away.

I think you should also be able to select the column and data/text to column
and it should identify correctly
