Excel 2003 in MSIE 6.0 window - disable - please help

Hi,

I'm trying to change my environment for MSIE as not to open any files within
it's own window.

F.i. I download excel files eachday from some sites and these open up in
MSIE instead of in Excel 2003 itself.

Win XP Home - SP2
MS Office 2003 - SP2
MSIE 6.0.2900.2180 sp 2

Biggest problem I have with it is that some add-ins which I corrected
dismantled in Excel itself keep on being used to my aggrevation in the excel
version which pops up in MSIE environment/window.

HELP !
