Excel 2003-Data Validation drop down list not working?

Spreadsheet created in Excel 2003.
Drop down list in data validation cells works fine for me and most others,
but have one person using the spreadsheet (in Excel 2000) that does not get a
drop down list when cells selected.
Have searched for causes in Help, but no results.
Have saved file in earlier versions - no results.
Is there some setting in his Excel version that could be interfering with
data validation list display?

Tools>Options>View>Objects>Show All must be checkmarked fro DV dropdowns to
operate.

I'm in a similar situation as the person who started this thread, except that I created the spreadsheet in Excel 2010. Now my team members using Excel 2003 don't see the drop down lists I made using data validation.

I checked Tools>Options, etc, but didn't see how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!
