Excel 2003/2007

Excel created in 2003 and converted to 2007.

Excel is "not responding" when I insert a column in "a" certain file. All
other excel files are working fine [I end up closing the program]. I emailed
the same file to a co-worker and the excel file was fully functional on his
machine.

Unsuccessful attemps to fix the problem:
1. unstalling/restalling the office program
confirmed that SP1/updates were not the issue
2. repairing excel
3. renaming the file
4. copying the information from one workbook to another
5. emailing the file to "the co-worker" and getting him to rename and send
it back

HI

Do you have the original document on office 2003?

If you do might it be possible to copy all of the information and just work
out where you need to go from there. Also, if you have emailed this file to a
co-worker and they can get it working, get them to copy and save all of the
information onto a 2007 document and then resend it to you.

I hope this helps.

I had a similar problem and had it converted on another computer and then
that seem to work. I believe it is something to do with a line of code or a
piece of data that is comflicting. It might even be something as simple as a
formula or a virus that has attached it self to the document. One final
problem could be the file is corrupt which is why I recommend going to the
original and then resaving it under a new name.

I am having the same problem but don't have the original document in 2003 and
have made way too many changes since. This only happens when I add or remove
columns or rows, not when I move them. The file freezes up for about 3
minutes and then frees up again with the correct columns inserted. I have a
couple of converted files that this has happened to in the past. Does
Microsoft have any solutions for this issue?
