Excel 2002: Can I recover the deleted file ?

M

Mr. Low

Hi,

I am using Excel installed in a server for my work via a PC.

If I have mistakenly deleted an Excel file, may I know if there is a way to
recover it up to the last saved status?

Today my Excel program terminated unexpectedly, as usual it procced with the
document recovery. I noticed that under the document recovery folder there
was ine file that I have wrongly deleted earlier on.

Is there a way for me to get into the document recovery folder when the
program is running normally ?

Thanks

Low

You could look at:
tools|Options|save tab
and make a note of the location.

But if excel is closed right now, I'd just used windows explorer to move that
file to a different location. And then rename it to a nice name (with a nice
extension).

You may get lucky.

But if that's not the file you were hoping for, you'll have to look for a
backup--maybe a .xlk (if you create backup files automatically) or even in your
sent folder if you emailed it to someone else.

Or if you have an IT staff that backups your files, maybe you can contact them
for help.
