Excel 2000 not loading

I just installed Excel 2000 on new computer I got running
Windows XP. I have the Small Business version of Office.
WHen I try to open excel it just hangs and doesn't open
worksheet.

I tried searching for xlb file which I had seen mentioned
elsewhere. There is no file found on my computer - i set
to look for hidden files.

When I load in /safe mode it gets farther and opens blank
worksheet but then also hangs.

Any help would be appreciated.

That file will be there, Excel will create a new one if it can't find it.
make sure you have set hidden files to be visible also. I would suspect
that as an issue
