Excel 2000, Close, Maximise, Minimize buttons disappeared

The Close, Maximise, Minimize buttons disappeared.
This happened on only one workbook. Other workbooks have
no problem.
How do I make them reappear ?
Is this something to do with the fact that the original
file was in Excel 4 format ?

Thanks

Are you writing about the workbook's close, max, min buttons or the
application's?

If it's the workbooks, have you tried:
Window|arrange|Tiled and then resize
(maybe they're just off the visible screen)

If it's the application, can you right click on the excel button on the windows
taskbar and choose maximize?

It, too, could be off the visible screen.

(If the application is a window, you can choose Move. Then use the arrow keys
to show the title bar.)

Thanks for the response. I evidently should have been
more specific. The full width of the worksheet is
visible, e.g. the blue bar running across the top of the
worksheet is fully visible, but the three buttons
normally on the right hand side of the blue bar (Close,
Maximize, Minimize) are missing.
I had problems with this file being corrupt, but that was
solved. The buttons went missing sometime after the
corrupt file problem was resolved.
Hope it's clearer now.

It sounds like the workbook is protected.

Tools|Protection|
If you see Unprotect workbook, click on that. You may need a password.

There's an option under tools|protection|protect workbook that allows the
Windows of the workbook not to be resized.
