After upgrading a user's PC from Windows ME to Windows XP
Pro, Microsoft Excel 2000 no longer provided the option to
exit out of the application via the "X" button on the
upper right-hand corner of the screen. The "X" is grayed
out. You can, however, still exit by going to "File"
and "Exit". No other Office 2000 applications on that PC
has this issue. I ran the "fix it" function within Excel
and through Office both from the hard drive and the cd-rom
and that didn't have any affect. I also reinstalled Excel
as well as Office 2000 and that had no affect. I then
downloaded all of the corresponding updates from the
Microsoft Web site for that version of Office and Excel
and that didn't have an affect. Does anyone have any
suggestions?
