EWF Question

Is there a way with EWF to protect only certain directories, and/or
sub-folders only instead of protection all or nothing? Are there certain
EWF API command that can be programmed to do this?

Debbie,

No, that is not possible.
EWF is a disk filter driver. It doesn't know anything about file system and protects partition data.

On SP2 there is a new EWF API to commit changes for a specific file (EwfMgrCommitFile,
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d.../en-us/xpehelp/html/xelrfewfmgrcommitfile.asp). But there is a lot of
limitations and precautions to use the new API.

Thanks KM, I thought SP2 made some enhancements to the EWF. I will look
further into the EwfMgrCommitFile API.

They have made some enhancements like limited file commit. But nothing more.
We will have to wait litle longer.
