Everytime I boot my Windows XP, I have to select Last Known Good C

Since last 10 days, everytime I boot my Windows XP, I have to select "Last
Known Good Configuration" in order to log on. All the latest patches have
been installed from Windows Update. After logging the system works fine. In
The Event Viewer, the Application and System logs, don't show any errors.

Please suggest some way out.

If you have System Restore functioning, you can choose a date prior to
this happening. You can get to System Restore by
going to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. Just
follow the instructions there.
