Try increasing the resolution. Right click on the desktop and select properties. Flip to the settings tab and slide the
slider towards the right under the 'screen resolution' tab.
I'm not sure of what things are "everything big on screen" but...
Something may have changed your screen resolution. Either try some
restore points before this happened, or type "control display" in your run
box or right click your desktop>properties and on the settings tab try
diiferent positions on the screen resolution slider and see if you get the
look you want--you'll get a countdown to sample them of about 30 seconds.
You can also try different DPI settings on the pulldown by hitting the
Advanced button on the settings tab
Other factors that change the size are using a program like Stardocks or
Style XP and the inter-relationships of skins and other settings.
