Event Viewer Unable to Overwrite Events Question

Hi, my event viewer on Windows 2000 Server always defaults back to
overwrite events older than 7 days after I restart the server. Where
can I set it to do as needed so that it permanently keeps the as needed
setting. I have to set it everytime.

Thanks for any help.

That sounds odd. Check your event logs. What SP on W2k, and are you up to
date on all critical patches?

Yes. SP4 and all. It always does it when I reset the machine. Some
policy somewhere must be forcing it.

Please don't snip out all the replied-to quoted text when you reply - it
will make this hard to follow.

Who is in charge of the domain group policies? I don't remember where this
setting is, so you may find more help by posting in
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy.
