Event Viewer does not show any details (blank)

When I display the properties of an event in the Event Viewer and click on
the link to show more details, the Help and Support Center opens, but the
details pane is blank. I've disabled my firewall and virus software, but this
does not solve the problem. Any suggestions?

Some custom themes will cause this. Switch back to the original XP theme to
test.

I'm not using any custom themes, but thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I
believe the problem may have something to do with IE7 beta, or more to the
point - uninstalling IE7, reverting back to IE6. I'm going to force IE6 to
reinstall off the disk and see if that helps.

Reinstalling IE6 from disk did not solve the problem. Nor did running the
system file scan utility.
