event viewer: access denied

Hi all,

I have in-place-upgraded one windows2000 DC to AD
now I cannot open the vent viewer: I got access denied.

any tips to fix this problem.?
I have checked the account and ntfs permissions all look ok for me

With what user account are you attempting to open it? I am also a bit
confused by your statement the you did an in-place upgrade on one WIN2000 DC
to AD. What are you saying here? DO you mean that it was a WINNT 4.0 PDC
that was upgraded to WIN2000 AD? If it is a WIN2000 Domain Controller then
it is already Active Directory!
