Event Log startup errors

Bill Swartz

Hello,
I get these 3 errors at startup. The first 2 are the same. Does anyone know
how to fix them?

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date: 11/14/2003
Time: 7:47:51 AM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: MIRANDA2K
Description:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Return value (1722).

Event Type: Information
Event Source: DnsApi
Event Category: None
Event ID: 11152
Date: 11/14/2003
Time: 7:48:15 AM
User: N/A
Computer: MIRANDA2K
Description:
The system failed to register network adapter with settings:

Adapter Name : {0BF1DAD9-E90D-46AE-9A04-E3B7A8EBD983}
Host Name : miranda2k
Adapter-specific Domain Suffix : vosssci.new.com
DNS server list :
198.59.115.2, 192.168.1.12
Sent update to server : 208.236.10.2
IP Address(es) :
192.168.1.201

The reason it could not register was because either: (a) the DNS server
does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol, or (b) the primary zone
authoritative for the registering names does not currently accept dynamic
updates.

To add or register a DNS host (A) resource record using the specific DNS
name for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems
administrator.

Is DNS-server installed on the server? It should have the ISP-DNS-numbers in
the tab Forwarders.
On your servernic(s) DNS should *only* point to your server-IP.
How many nics in the server? What OS on the clients?

I don't have specific information about your problem, but
I do my event log research at http://www.eventid.net,
click on "search events"

Type in the event code and the source (in your
case "Userenv") of the event.

Hope this helps,
Ryan
