I have a Windows 2003 SBS and a notebook with Windows XP.
It takes a long time to log on to the domain from this
laptop even with domain administrative credentials and
after logon is very slow over the network. I received
request time out when I tried to ping the server or the
gateway. I brought the laptop in a different network and
is working properly. Checking the Event log on the server
I found this error for this user! The laptop has the
latest updates from Windows Updates site!

Is anybody there to give me a clue about this issue?
Thanks in advance!

assuming this is a domain network, quoted from http://www.ChicagoTech.net

Net Logon Event ID 5805

Cause: A machine account failed to authenticate, which is usually caused by
either multiple instances of the same computer name, or the computer name
has not replicated to every domain controller.
