Event ID 534 in the Security Log

I'm having a problem that is driving me crazy -
interested to see if anyone can explain. I have a
scheduled task set up to run under an account that has
domain admin privileges. I can schedule this task to run
two minutes or two hours from now and it runs correctly.
However, when I schedule it to run in the night, say at
1:00 am or 3:00am, it fails with event ID 534 "The user
has not been granted the requested logon type at this
machine." In AD, the user account has 24/7 for logon
hours. I can't understand why this job runs fine by day -
fails by night.

I'd appreciate any help you might offer.

I don't know the answer, but the problem is not related to time
restrictions on a user account. It has to do with the allow/deny logon to
network or locally user rights assignments for the machine. So you may want
to check the Local Security Policy of the machine for those four settings
"effective" policy. --- Steve
