Hi

I recently demoted a Windows 2000 server from domain
controller to member server. I am getting two event log
errors that I would like to fix. The full event errors
are:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Server
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2511
Date: 8/27/2004
Time: 11:39:09 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ALBANYRV02
Description:
The server service was unable to recreate the share SYSVOL
because the directory C:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol no longer
exists.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Server
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2511
Date: 8/27/2004
Time: 11:39:09 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ALBANYRV02
Description:
The server service was unable to recreate the share
NETLOGON because the directory
C:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\albanyrv.local\SCRIPTS no longer
exists.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hi,

The error "The server service was unable to recreate the share <share name>
because the directory <drive>:\<directory> no longer exists." Along with
event id 2511 will occur if you have deleted any shared folder without
removing the share. To rectify this error follow the knowledge base
articles given below. You should be able to fix this error.

Event ID 2511 Is Logged After You Delete a Shared Directory

Please let me know if this helps!
