Event ID 1202

Louis Torres

HI,

I have two servers running Win2k, server A is a DC to my domain and server B
was just promoted DC to my domain. The problem is that after promoting
server B, the application log in event viewer generates the following
warning message every 5 minutes:

Event Type: Warning

Event Source: SceCli

Event Category: None

Event ID: 1202

Date: 11/12/2003

Time: 10:27:51 AM

User: N/A

Computer: Server B

Description:

Security policies are propagated with warning. 0x3e5 : Overlapped I/O
operation is in progress.

For best results in resolving this event, log on with a non-administrative
account and search http://support.microsoft.com for "Troubleshooting Event
1202s".

I researched the event ID in the MS knowledge base but I haven't been able
to find the exact description of the problem.

Thanks,

Louis T.

I would run dcdiag on the new domain controller looking for failed tests that may
help explain. It could be a dns problem. It should have been pointing to the other
domain controller as it's only dns server in tcp/ip properties before dcpromo. ---
