Hy
I have a 4 pc wired ethernet network, using Windows XP with SP2, a Linksys
router and switches.
The network works fine, but in one PC (let say #1), every few seconds
appears in the Event Viewer a DCOM problem ID 10009

Description: DCOM was unable to comunicate with the computer (computer name)
using any of the configured protocols.

It happens every few seconds changing the (computers Names) for each
computer #2, #3, #4 in the network. It occurs only in computer #1. again and
again and again ...

I have read and follow recomendations of many forums posts about this
problem, Help and Support, etc, but nothing solve this problem yet.

Any help of yours is needed and appreciated.

It could be a resource you've mapped is no longer available.

UNMAPPING A DRIVE

When you are finished using a mapped drive it's a good idea to "disconnect"
or unmap the drive.
To do this, launch Windows Explorer then go to Tools--Disconnect Network
Drive. You will be given a window listing the drives you currently have
mapped. Highlight the one you want to disconnect and press OK

Also, check the printers on the computer in question and see if one that is
shared is no longer available.

Thanks Jon. I clean a lot of unused shared printers and it solves the DCOM
Event ID 10009, but exist another error, Event ID: 23, User: NT
AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Printer Auto WinFax on (let say pc 2) failed to initialize because a
suitable WinFax driver could not be found.

I clean all shared printers and faxex in the whole lan. It happens every
time I restart the PC an even also when the connection is disabled. It
appears twice for let say PC 2 and PC 3. I don't know why it happens,
because this PC should not try to look at any other PC shared device after I
clean all those. In some place remains a wrong instruction. My question is
were to look, or what else must be cleared.

Let me know your opinion.

Thanks in advance Julbonet
