Hi,
Everytime I try to install or uninstall any application this is what is
being logged on the event log. I am going nuts here, anybody?
for example - Veritas Backup Remote Agent - local install (asks for
username/pass for the service; in my case is a special backup account mebmer
of domain admins) however....

Event ID: 10004 - Source DCOM
DCOM got error "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress. " and was unable to
logon domain\user in order to run the
server:{7203B6A5-7808-11D2-AC23-00105A0D1A42}

In dcomcnf.exe I am not able to find the "server"
{7203B6A5-7808-11D2-AC23-00105A0D1A42}, and in registry (i do find it) but
it does have the right permissions.
Thank you,

Julian Dragut

Hi Julian,

Try this one: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;312497
first.

The other thing could be that the permissions on the DCOM are not setting up
properly.

To do that, you should following the next steps:

In one case, this was due to incorrect permissions for the NETWORK SERVICE
account in the DCOM configuration.

Start, RUN, DCOMCNFG, Component Services. Navigate to Computers, My
Computer, DCOM Config. Click View on the title bar and then click Detail. Try
to find the program, right click and then Properties.

I hope it helps you.

Cheers,

Adriana

Hi Adriana,

I've been through all that, still no luck!
Any other ideas?

Merci,

Julian
