Event 7063 Recursive Queries

Brenda Cook

Can someone tell me what causes this error:

The DNS server is configured to forward to a non-recursive
DNS server at 216.121.124.75.

DNS servers in forwarders list MUST be configured to
process recursive queries.
Either
1) fix the forwarder (216.121.124.75)to allow recursion
- connect to it with DNS Manager
- bring up server properies
- open "Advanced" tab
- uncheck "Disable Recursion"
- click OK
or
2) remove this forwarder from this servers forwarders list
- DNS Manager
- bring up server properties
- open "Forwarders" tab
- remove (216.121.124.75) from list of forwarders
- click ok

I do not have 216.121.124.75 listed in my forwarders list.
Thanks,
Brenda

It is possible that the forwarder you are using is using this address as a
forwarder.
What are you using as forwarders?
We might be able to check these servers.
Or you could just try using 4.2.2.2 only as a forwarder to see if it makes
it go away.

Kevin, I am using:

216.220.32.155 and
216.220.32.166

for outside DNS servers. Are you saying I could simply
use 4.2.2.2 as my outside DNS server?

Thanks for your reply,
Brenda
