don't BELIEVE that internally.
Linux is a "market-force" in the PC OS business about like Ghana is a major

It's a waste of time contacting Dell for that sort of thing.

This NG seems to be turning into an Ubuntu NG, presumably because that's
what Dell is selling.

Buying Dell to escape from MS is a bit like jumping from the proverbial
frying pan into the fire.

On a more constructive note, the numerous distributions of Linux are its
strong point, and this diversity should be encouraged. With Linux you are no
longer tied to a single source. The main problem for people who just want to
use their computers is (apart from the short learning curve) getting
software ready-compiled for their particular distribution/version. This
isn't a big technical problem, but as some Linux applications have to be
paid for, we need a way of ensuring that this can be done while ensuring
copy protection. Since the open source system is built on altruism, it
should be possible to design and operate a compilation service that doesn't
penalise anyone.
